I Don’t Want to Know
A raw piece on willful ignorance, the excuses we make to avoid staying informed, and the silent price we collectively pay for running from the truth.
“I’d rather not know.”
“I don’t have time to keep up.”
“Anyway, there’s nothing we can do.”
You’ve heard these phrases. Maybe even said them.
They’ve become normal. Casual.
But they’re some of the most dangerous words of our time.
Not because they’re false.
But because they place us exactly where we’re expected to be: lined up on the chessboard, quietly in the pawn row.
Willful Ignorance: The Perfect Strategy
We don’t lack information. We lack the will to go get it. We’re tired, overwhelmed, overloaded. We crave peace, comfort, distraction.
Everything is presented in vague, technical, inaccessible language. So we end up thinking it’s not for us. We repeat slogans, share memes, attack those who dare to question... And meanwhile, the game goes on.
Decisions are made. Narratives are built. Laws are passed. And those we protect with our silence — the kings, queens, and well-placed rooks — are never held accountable.
Because while we sleep on our feet, they win.
Thinking Has Become Radical
Today, thinking is suspicious.
Doubting makes you a conspiracy theorist.
Questioning is arrogance.
Digging deeper? A waste of time.
So we avoid. We say we don’t have time, the tools, or the knowledge. We hand our power over to those who speak loudly — with titles, microphones, and rehearsed speeches. And the more we believe we can’t change anything, the less we do.
We don’t build our opinions. We receive them. We absorb them — day after day — through headlines, slanted columns, endless talk shows.
And without realizing it, we regurgitate a media narrative. We hate who we’re told to hate. We mock “theories” we’ve never even read. We parrot empty phrases. We think we’re thinking… but we’re just replaying a loop.
The King Doesn’t Play — He Watches the Pawns Fall
Think you’re defending a cause? Ask yourself: for who? For what? Did you choose your battles, or were they handed to you?
Because while you fight to protect a king you’ve never met... While you label other pawns as enemies... While the war eats you from the inside... The real player moves his pieces quietly. He doesn’t take the hits. He doesn’t lose his job. He doesn’t bleed. He profits while the pawns tear each other apart.
You Have the Right to Know
You have the right to ask questions. You have the right to doubt what you’re being served. You have the right to open your eyes, even if it stings. Knowing isn’t a luxury. It’s a responsibility. And thinking for yourself isn’t a threat — it’s the last freedom you still have.
This Text Isn’t a Judgment — It’s a Mirror
A mirror for those who want to break free. For those who want to see the whole board, not just the square they were assigned. For those tired of being moved around without understanding why.
If you think you don’t have time to stay informed... If you believe it won’t change anything... Ask yourself one simple question:
Who benefits from your ignorance?
